Some players and coaching staff members were also caught up in the turmoil. Even a member of Celtic's coaching team was reportedly assaulted by a Rangers fan.

Premier Sports commentator Rory Hamilton, during the live broadcast, expressed outrage: “This is an extremely ugly ending to a fantastic match. A member of Celtic's coaching staff was attacked. It's insane.”

In other video clips, a police officer was recorded tripping from behind while running to prevent violence, as two fans engaged in a fight right on the pitch. One individual even delivered a karate-style kick that knocked the opponent down.

Scottish police confirmed multiple arrests following the incident. Police Commander Kate Stephen condemned the fans' behavior: “The conduct of some individuals at today's match is disgraceful and must be condemned. Officers and security staff faced severe violence for an extended period.”

The SFA also issued a statement confirming it will launch an investigation into the fans' pitch invasion after the match concluded.

Not only inside the stadium, the situation outside Ibrox also became chaotic as riot police and mounted units were deployed to control the crowd. Some fans threw bottles toward police barriers, while others were injured during the pushing and shoving.

Police swiftly acted to restore order.

The incident occurred amid this derby allowing up to 7,500 Celtic fans into Ibrox—the largest ticket allocation for visiting teams since 2018. However, the violent scenes post-match may lead to reconsideration of plans to maintain large away fan allocations for future Old Firm matches.
